Abstract

Research on coupling reactions is an important challenge in chemistry science due to their numerous applications in industrial, chemical, biological and pharmaceutical processes. Palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions to form carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds has emerged as an extremely general technology for the preparation of compounds containing C–C and C–X bonds in numerous areas of basic and applied research. In recent times, the activation of strong C–O bonds in cross-coupling catalysis can open up new oxygenate-based feed stocks and building blocks for complex-molecule synthesis. In this review, we summarized a beautiful anthology of methods reported for the palladium catalyzed cross-coupling reactions based on C–O bond activation.
