Abstract
Paul M. Sommers (psommers@middlebury.edu) is a starry-eyed professor of economics at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. He is the author of Diamonds Are Forever, a Brookings Institution volume on baseball, not agents On Her Majesty's Secret Service. On clear nights, he searches the heavens for a cluster of stars in a constellation vaguely forming a baseball-shaped configuration. Maybe the astrology will be right and the Boston Red Sox will win a World Series, their first since the accursed trade.
