Abstract

SUMMARY In this report are discussed three similar complex lesions which were composed of intermingled elements of a hamartomatous basal cell tumour and of a dermal cellular naevus. It appeared that some of the naevus cells arose directly from the basal cell strands in the deep portions of the hamartoma. This situation is contrasted with the coincidental origin of an aggressive basal cell epithelioma at the site of a dermal naevus. An instance of a dermal cellular naevus and an immediately adjacent syringoma is also described.
