Abstract

We discuss the light and strange baryon spectrum obtained within the Dyson–Schwinger/Bethe–Salpeter approach. We compare results from the covariant three-body Faddeev equation and its quark–diquark simplification using the same elementary quark–gluon interaction. The quark–diquark picture allows us to make predictions for excited states in the hyperon sector which can be tested by experiments.
