Abstract

A Glauber-type multiple collision model for proton-nucleus inclusive reactions is used in intranuclear cascade calculations to derive the inelastic spectra and the integrated cross section of leadin baryons. Both flat and realistic elasticity distributions are considered in nucleon-nucleon interactions. Model predictions are compared with experimental p-A inclusive cross section data at 100 GeV/c and show satisfactory agreement for a wide range of target nuclei. The dependence of the mean elasticity of the leading nucleon on the final isospin state and on the target mass is also obtained and compared with available data.
