these patients, the indications for fentanyl use, the transmucosal route used for fentanyl administration, the dose of fentanyl given, the frequency of use, and the effectiveness of the medication in managing symptoms. Methods/session descriptions. Information about the logistical issues encountered in implementing this practice will be highlighted. These included establishing a guideline for the availability of the medication, the use of an atomizer in nasal medication delivery, and supporting staff in this approach to managing symptoms in neonates at end of life. Conclusion. This session/poster will present the findings of a retrospective chart review on the use and effectiveness of intranasal fentanyl in palliative symptom management of newborns and infants. Practitioners in perinatal and pediatric palliative care will gain an understanding of how this novel approach can be implemented in their practice.
