Abstract

The purpose of the study is to understand diverse bottlenecks and barriers towards adoption of eVehicles in India. Articles published in Scopus Q1 journals covering barriers were considered to identify barriers. These identified barriers were categorized under different headings and sub-headings. The review draws attention towards comparatively less studied factors like behavioral barriers, external barriers, as well as throws light on most prominent barriers like technological barriers and infrastructural barriers. The study would be beneficial to researchers, as well as policy makers due to dearth of studies related to electric vehicles in India. The findings from the study will provide notable insights for stakeholders to facilitate electric mobility in India. Prioritization of the barriers will help the decision-makers to focus on high-priority barriers in addressing them and finding solutions. This research will contribute in attaining an in-depth understanding multifaceted dimensions of the barriers and inter-dependency in policy and decision making.
