Abstract

The distribution of the starting field H si of individual reproducible Barkhausen jumps measured on thin iron whiskers during repeated hyteresis cycles is investigated. The logarithmic dependence of the average value 〈 H si〉 on sweep rate H of the applied field allows us to determine the associated thermal aftereffect coefficient S i.
