AbstractLocal governments in Spanish cities such as Barcelona are boosting alternative forms of tenure to facilitate housing accessibility. Specifically, Barcelona city council has developed co-living, cohousing, housing cooperatives or provisional proximity housing initiatives as an alternative to home ownership.
