Abstract

It seems that every few months a United States bombardment of Iraq appears to be inevitable. Even though the most comprehensive economic sanctions ever inflicted in modern history have already crippled Iraq, slaughtering over 500,000 children under the age of five, the U.S. and its allies remain poised for further assault. The continuing U.S. threats of massive air strikes on Iraq only heap agony upon civilians who have already endured a seven‐year state of siege.
