Abstract

The paper aims to explore the bank specific factors and macroeconomics factors of profitability in Barclays Bank PLC in United Kingdom during 2013-2017. The regression analysis findings shows that ROE was positively and statistically significant, whereas debt to equity negatively and statistically significant to profitability when the bank specific factors and profitability has been tested. For the model of macroeconomics and profitability no result of significant has been shown. As for the model of the combination of bank specific factors and macroeconomics, it shows that ROE and debt to equity are positively significant and negatively significant respectively to profitability.
