Abstract

Profits at most Eighth District member banks rose sharply in 1966. Profits after taxes at these banks totaled $85 million last year, 14 per cent above 1965. Major factors influencing the rise were an increase in the volume of loans and a higher rate of retnrn on both loans and securities.
