Abstract

AbstractA coupled differential‐fed patch antenna printed on the low‐cost FR‐4 substrate based on substrate integrated suspended line technique is proposed for wireless applications. A stacked patch is introduced on the top of the proposed antenna for bandwidth enhancement. Two symmetrical rectangular parasitic patches are placed close to the stacked patch to further enhance the bandwidth. Thus, the radiation null at the high band‐edge is generated, and 12.5% of the fractional bandwidth is obtained. The front‐to‐back ratio is greater than 18 dB at operating frequencies from 4.73 to 5.36 GHz. The measured boresight gain of the antenna is 10.8 dBi, and the radiation efficiency is 92%.
