Abstract

This paper presents a slot geometry for large arrays that offers an increase in slot bandwidth over the conventional geometry. This new approach is compared with the conventional one and discuss its advantages and disadvantages in applications for large slot arrays. This research discusses methods of using the infinite array model for efficient and accurate design and analysis of large arrays. Examples of a 160x160 Ka-band array designed using 10x10-element subarrays with regular offsets and alternating ("Svensson") offsets illustrate the procedures.
