Abstract

This paper presents a Fabry-Perot (FP) antenna with bandwidth gain enhancement and radar cross section (RCS) reduction properties using the hybrid reflecting method. The implementation of hybrid reflecting method is based on Hybrid Partially Reflecting Surface (HPRS). Two kinds of Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) units are etched on both sides of a substrate to form the Hybrid Surface (HS) and Reflective Surface (RS) of HPRS operate as the Partially Reflecting Surface (PRS) for the proposed FP antenna. The simulation shows that the FP antenna has the 10-dB impedance bandwidth of 8.6-12.2 GHz (34.6%). The 3-dB gain bandwidth is 8.59–11.13 (25.8&) with maximum realized gain of 17.2 dBi. The RCS-reduction bandwidth is 8.6-13.5 GHz with peak RCS reduction of 14.9 dB.
