Abstract

A class of bandwidth efficient differential phase shift keying (DPSK) signals is presented, and their performance is analyzed. Compact bandwidth, constant envelope, fast demodulation, and nonredundant forward-error-correction properties make the proposed signals attractive for TDMA (time-division multiaccess) applications such as point-to-multipoint radio systems, mobile communications, and others. DPSK demodulation can be made insensitive to the carrier-frequency drift, so that it is suitable to Doppler and slow-fading environments. >
