Abstract

Photoconduction measurements have been made on cadmium phosphate glasses of different compositions. Optical band gaps have been deduced from spectral dependence curves for these compositions under various applied fields. Zero-field band gaps vary with the percentage of modifying oxide. The results can be explained in terms of energy bands for non-crystalline materials and are similar to absorption measurements.
