Abstract
In this work, we show that resonant inelastic light scattering of short period planar doped GaAs multilayer systems probes the shrinkage of the band gap due to interaction between the Fermi sea and valence band. Comparison between experiment and theory for a sample submitted to various incident laser energies shows that the shrinkage is reasonable described by a term proportional to n 1/6.
