Abstract

This article presents an evaluation of the actions taken by the extension project “Condom Availability”, carried out in the Graduate Program in Social Work at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), in partnership with the Public Health Department/STD-HIV-AIDS Program of Campos dos Goytacazes, RJ. The evaluation combines qualitative and quantitative methods, with analysis of the number of educational actions and students’ shifts in the program, number of students taking part in the actions, number of registered users who get condom kits on a monthly basis, and the average of actual monthly delivery. The study also took into consideration the students’ comments on the project in the questionnaire applied in the survey. Results show a good project performance regarding achievement of its goals, and recognition of its importance by university students.
