Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to prepare composite film for biomedical and agro technical application. Biogenic Nanocellulose Fiber (NCF) from agriculture waste of banana plant was used to prepare a composite film. Composite films were prepared by the incorporation of nanocellulose into a polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). SEM images shows that the needle-shaped nanofibrils were uniformly dispersed in the PVOH film. The FT-IR spectral analysis confirms the presence and absence of cellulosic group within prepared film. The tensile strength of film was increased by 56.00% with the addition of 2% NCF. The solubility of composite film was reduced to 6.26% due to incorporation of 2% NCF.
