Abstract

ABSTRACT A new genus and species of stoneflies, Balticonemoura bulbosus gen. et sp. nov. (Plecoptera: Nemouridae: Nemourinae), are described and illustrated from the Eocene Baltic amber. Balticonemoura gen. nov. differs from other nemourids mainly by its unique epiproct and structure of cerci. Balticonemoura gen. nov. represents the first new extinct genus of Nemouridae in Baltic amber. Balticonemoura bulbosus sp. nov. is the seventh nemourid species known from the Baltic amber.
