Abstract

Abstract: Examination of higher order interval system is an attractive area for research. It demands a suitable approach to decrease them to its lower approximation. This paper goes to accomplish the necessity by introducing Balance Truncation technique for reducing the original system. The algorithm may be used for reducing the order of the unstable system and we are fruitfully attaining stable reduced order models. The reduction method is to study for the probability of finding some lower order transfer function of the similar kind that reflects the dominant characteristics of the original system. The recommended technique preserves the significant properties such as controllability, observability and balanced form. Most of the papers deal with the reduction of SISO (Single-Input-Single-Output) large-scale systems, but in this article, we applied balanced realization method for the reduction of Interval System. This paper produces steady & precise results as compared to conventional reduction techniques like Routh’s approximation, Pade Approximation, Gama-Delta Approximation etc. A numerical example has been given to explain the optimization technique. Simulation and performance analysis have been done in Matlab software. Keywords: Model order reduction, interval system, balance truncation Cite this Article Ashish Mishra, Shekhar Yadav.
