Abstract

Processes occurring in cast iron with stably graphitized structure and high degree of ferritization of the initial structure in the temperature range of intermediate transformation connected with both decomposition of supercooled austenite and formation of “mesoferrite” and with segregation of carbides from the α-phase in the final stage of the transformation yielding a bainitic structure are analyzed. Special features of the formed structure are confirmed experimentally with the help of metallographic analysis.
