BAHIJA BOURAN AND HER INTELLECTUAL AND POLITICAL ROLE IN TÜRKIYE (1910-1987)

Abstract

It is noted that Boran is the first sociologist and the first woman president of a political party in Turkey. Boran's life went through struggles and difficulties in academic and political life, especially because she was a socialist. In this study, it is an illustration of Bahija Bouran's experience as a woman in the intellectual and political field, which made her speeches about women and women's rights. The main point of the study is whether an academic and a politician like Buran, the first woman leader of a political party in Turkey who has spoken out about the problem of women.
