Abstract

AbstractThe novel ridge‐gap waveguide (RGW) technology which uses a full metal structure has many advantages in micro/mm‐wave frequencies such as low loss, broad bandwidth, low sensitivity to manufacturing errors, and easy integration with active components, and so forth. In this paper, a Ku‐band 3‐way Bagley polygon power divider (BPD) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated based on the RGW technology for the first time, to the best of our knowledge. An RGW‐toWR62 transition is also designed and fabricated. The proposed three‐way RGW‐based BPD with WR62 transitions shows low‐loss equal‐power division in phase with good impedance matching and isolation between output ports in the Ku band. The proposed RGW‐based BPD can be extended to an N‐way power divider.
