Abstract

PurposeTo evaluate the value of optical coherence tomography as a diagnostic tool in retinopathy of prematurityMaterial and Methodsa short summary of the pesntknowlage about the optical coherence tomography usefulness in diagnostics of retinopathy of prematurity.ConclusionsComprehensive ophthalmological examination and treatment followed by the use of the diagnostic tools such as optical coherence tomography in children with reinopathy of prematurity will allow to decide of proper timing and method of treatment. Subsequently this will contribute in achieving the best possible visual acuity and thus a higher quality of life in these children.
