Abstract

Bacteriophage were isolated from bacterially colonized Anguina funesta galls in ryegrass. Lolium rigidum, associated with annual ryegrass toxicity (ARGT). These bacteriophage lysed all strains of the Clavibacter sp. associated with ARGT but not strains of the related bacteria, Clavibacter iranicum, Clavibacter tritici or Clavibacter rathayi, or strains of other plant pathogenic coryneforms tested.
