Abstract

ABSTRACTA total of 378 dried poultry manure samples were bacteriologically examined. These samples were randomly collected from poultry fattening and egg producing farms (198 and 180 samples, resp.). The bacteriological examination of dried manure revealed that the positive samples from the fattening farms were 65 (59.63%) and from the egg producing farms - 44 (40.37%).Thermal treatments of poultry manure at 60 °C, 80°C and 100°C for 30 min were studied. There were no bacterial isolates from the dried manure treated at 80°C and 100°C, while after the heat treatment at 60°C for 30 min bacterial counts were lowered.
