Abstract

A 69-year-old male suddenly developed a headache (visual analog scale 8) and right posterior neck pain and he underwent cervical spine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and neuroplasty in a local hospital. Several hours later after neuroplasty, he developed fever, and his consciousness deteriorated and he transferred to our hospital. Bacterial meningitis was highly suspected, he was given antibiotics and steroid. A cerebrospinal fluid tap was also performed (2450 leukocytes/mm3; sugar: 7 mg/dL; proteins: 452 mg/dL).
