Abstract

The recent interest in treating onychomycosis has been generated by the introduction of new effective oral antimycotic agents. However, some patients respond to one course of an agent, and other patients may not respond to a second course with the same or a different drug. We describe a patient who failed to respond to a three-pulse regimen of itraconazole, but was successfully treated with a combination of systemic antibiotics and oral fluconazole.
