Abstract

To improve protein folding simulations, bacterial chemotaxis optimization (BCO) was investigated on a 2D lattice model. BCO is a novel intelligent problem solving technique inspired from the foraging behavior of bacteria. We compared BCO with standard genetic algorithm (SGA), immune genetic algorithm (IGA), and artificial immune system (AIS) for various chain lengths. It shows that BCO has the highest successful rate.
