Abstract

RATIONALE: D. farinae dust mite extracts contain more endotoxin than D. pteronyssinus extracts. Initial attempts to identify microbial sources of this endotoxin by standard culture techniques were unsuccessful. In this study, we attempted to detect 16S ribosomal sequences in DNA extracted from both species.
