Abstract
This paper presents the enhancement and optimization of a backscatter radios coverage, by using special designed waveforms for a dedicated WPT path, the backscatter radio is built using a specific frequency path for powering up the device, and several waveforms are tested to power up the overall systems, those include multi-sines and modulated signals. It was proved that a multisine signal with 0° phase between the tones can produce better DC values when compared with a single tone excitation with same input power. With the use of modulated signals it was shown that, compared with CW, yielded better results in efficiency.
