Abstract
Abstract After revising elementary integration concepts from school calculus including the fundamental connection between indefinite integration and definite integration, and techniques such as integration by parts and integration by substitution (change of variable), this chapter concentrates on developing an understanding of improper integrals. Building insight through examples, we explore important classes of improper integrals, explore how they may be classified as convergent or divergent and discuss the idea of the Cauchy principal value of a divergent improper integral.
