Abstract

During launching process of electromagnetic launcher (EML), high-speed movement of the projectile would generate circular electric field which would cause eddy current inside the driving coil and affect the launching processes. Theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and experiment were applied to discover and verify the distribution of the circular electric field affected by the projectile's position and velocity in this paper. The reverse current was detected in the launching process of coil EML and the projectile's best position was modified ultimately.
