Abstract

The biggest barriers to getting the right mental health care for children are a lack of therapists and finding the right therapist, according to an independent survey conducted in late September, weeks after many children returned in person to school. Authors of the research brief, released in November, noted that the global pandemic made the 2020–2021 school year difficult for children and families, especially due to the need for distance learning and the amount of time children physically spent away from school.
