Abstract

In the Chinese legend, the third eye of “Er Lang Shen (二郎神)” has super magic power, which can not only act as a detector to see the essence of matter, but also emit a strong and versatile light beam just like laser. Adopting the special functions of Er Lang's third eye, this cover picture displays the photo‐stability of SPASER nanoparticles based on Au@SiO2 core‐shell nanostructure under the illumination of pulsed laser. In this paper, the effect of physical size and structure of SPASER nanoparticles on their photothermal stability is studied theoretically and experimentally. The results showed that SPASER nanoparticles with smaller gold core and thicker silica shell have a better photothermal stability. More details are discussed in the article by Xu et al. on page 507—514. image
