Abstract

The fungal strain Penicillium sp. HLLG‐122 was isolated from the root of mangrove Lumnitzera littorea (Jack) Voigt collected from Sanya, Hainan Island, China, which mainly produced meroterpenoid derivatives. Fifteen new meroterpenoids were isolated and characterized. The structures and absolute configurations of new compounds were elucidated by HRESIMS, NMR spectroscopy, single crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis, and electronic circular dichroism calculations. Among them, littoreanoid K (11) could suppress the levels of TNF‐α and IL‐6, and down‐regulate the protein expression of iNOS and COX‐2 in RAW 264.7 cells. More details are discussed in the article by Chen et al. on page 2507—2517.image
