Abstract
Palladium nanoparticles catalyze the deuteration and tritiation of benzylic positions on complex molecules, as reported by Viktor Pfeifer et al. in their Research Article on page 26671. In the picture, yellow diatomic molecules symbolize D2 or T2 gas, while the unlabeled molecular structures of celecoxib and UCB-J on the left and the identical labeled structures on the right with shining benzylic positions are shown to illustrate the hydrogen isotope exchange reaction.
