Abstract

Back Cover: The cover illustrates the finding that mammalian enzymes, including α‐chymotrypsin, elastase and trypsin occurring in pancreas, and subtilisin, as microbial enzyme, are able to degrade poly(L‐lactide) (PLA). The PLA is biocompatible and useful to human body. Environmental applications and biomedical materials made of PLA, such as sutures, bone fracture fixation devices and drug delivery microcapsules are degraded by these enzymes.Further details can be found in the Full Paper by H.‐A. Lim, T. Raku, and Y. Tokiwa* on page 875.
