Abstract

DOI: 10.1002/sscp.202000034 The cover picture shows achiral Stiripentol that was to be extracted from the human plasma for a bioequivalence study for a test and a reference product of 500 mg dose. The enantiomers, R and S Stiripentol behave differently in the human body, hence it was necessary to first extract them from human plasma and then separate them using ultra-fast liquid chromatography (UFLC) and chiral chromatography. High sensitivity for the method was achieved by using triple quad mass spectrometry in unit resolution mode. All these ideas put together resulted in a fantastic enantiomeric resolution with a complete base to base separation for Stiripentol with a resolution factor of more than 4.
