Abstract

An atom-swapping method for the synthesis of metallabenzenes, where a phosphorus atom on phosphinine is replaced by a transition-metal fragment, is reported by Kyoko Nozaki and co-workers in their Research Article (e202117096). Swapping of the P atom for Rh or Ir proceeded by oxidation of the phosphorus atom and subsequent reductive cleavage of the C−P bond of the phosphinine ring.
