Abstract

The Author, proceeding from a longitudinal sample area of the Po valley, analyzes the comparative management methods of three lands and cities (Novum Comum – Como, Mediolanum – Milano, Ticinum- Pavia), different in geomorphology and hydrogeology. The most representative themes in this sense are articulated according to the parameters of Urbanitas and Rusticitas. Urbanitas illustrate the comparison between natural enviromnents and foundational works, from sublicae to inverted amphorae, water supply, sewers, with attention to suburbia and the elements that declare global planning and intervention by the municipality. Among these elements, emphasis is placed on systems with amphorae, true geotechnical or hydraulyc structures capable of adapting the land without upsetting the environment. It is the philosophy of cities and lands “resilient”. Together with Rusticitas, with elements of “urbanization” in the vicus, the role of hydrographic basins, connection with limitationes, the relationship between roads and geomorphologycal opportunities are not overlooked( The roads as memory), we describe those interactions society-enviromnents that best interpret the city-system, in its political and technological indicators and in the ductility of knowledge and applications( The resilience as model).
