Abstract

3,3’-Bis-(2-imidazolin-2-yl) carbanilide dihydrochloride (imidocarb) has been compared with amicarbalide diisethionate, diminazene diaceturate and quinuronium sulphate for activity against Babesia rodhaini in mice and rats and for acute subcutaneous toxicity in these animals. In both species, imidocarb had greater babesicidal effect than did the other 3 compounds, and had a higher ratio of. L.D.50/E.D.50. Imidocarb and amicarbalide have considerable and comparable prophylactic effects in mice.
