Abstract
A new silicate Ba5Y12Zn[O(SiO4)]8 was synthesized by a high-temperature solution method and experimental results show a short cut-off edge of 204 nm, an SHG response (0.3 × KDP), and thermal stability. Meanwhile, the effect of the nM : nSi ratio on the Si–O framework was studied.
