The article discusses research on treatment and prevention of noise-induced hearing loss. Topics include work by researcher John Oghalai using optical coherence tomography (OCT), the use of laboratory mice to study noise-induced hearing loss, and the role of neural connection preservation in preventing hearing loss in relation to U.S. military research priorities.
