Abstract

In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB) band pass filter (BPF) with dual rejection Bands based on two parallel T shaped resonator is proposed. The UWB band pass is realized by one pole high pass filter followed by a low pass filter. The lower cut off frequency is determined using a lumped coupling capacitor whereas, the higher cut off frequency is achieved by the low pass filter. The filter is suitable for wireless communication applications within the unlicensed UWB range set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Such UWB band pass filter with notched bands is required in practical systems in order to avoid the interference between the UWB radio system and existing radio systems. The notched band can be easily adjusted to some specific frequency band(s) by tuning the parameters of the T shaped resonators. The proposed filter exhibits relative excellent ultra-wide bandwidth and notched bands performance compared with references. The measured results agree with the simulated ones.
