Abstract

At present, a microchannel heat exchanger is requested to achieve miniaturization and high efficiency in small size energy equipment. In order to clarify the heat transfer mechanism in a microchannel heat exchanger, knowledge on the thermal hydraulic characteristics of condensation flow in channels is essential. The objective of the present study is to clarify the thermal hydraulic characteristics of phase - change flow in a capillary tube by the observation of phase transition behavior. As the results, the flow pattern is transformed from the annular flow to the bubbly flow through the injection flow in a single capillary glass tube as simulated unit microchannel. And it was shown that dependence property of Reynolds number of the heat transfer rate by the square and circular channel was almost the same. And it is recognized that liquid file thickness is about 8〜14 μm in the annular flow.
