Abstract

The archive plate collection of the Harvard College Observatory has been searched to determine the long-term optical behavior of the radio source B2 1101+38. B2 1101+38 was found to be a large-amplitude, rapid variable with a total range of greater than or equal to4.7 mag. This is the largest range observed for any BL Lacertae object. (AIP)
