Abstract

We review recent results obtained by the DO/ and CDF collaborations on the rapidity dependence of b-quark and onia production in pp̄ collisions at s=1.8 TeV. The DO/ experiment has measured the inclusive production cross section for muons originating from b-quark decays in the forward rapidity region of 2.4<|yμ|<3.2 and compared it with its published results for muons in the central region. There is an indication of an increasing discrepancy between the data and the next-to-leading order QCD calculations at larger rapidities. The CDF experiment has measured a ratio of the bb̄ correlated cross sections for a central-central and central-forward production. Reduced experimental and theoretical uncertaintities allow to treat this measurement as a direct probe of the high-x gluon content of the proton. Finally, the DO/ collaboration extended studies of the inclusive J/ψ production into the forward pseudorapidity region 2.5<|ηJ/ψ|<3.7 and transverse momenta between 1 and 16 GeV/c. The new results are consistent with the predictions of theoretical models for charmonium production, whose parameters were adjusted to describe the direct J/ψ production in the central rapidity region.
